Diversity at BCD Group

The diversity at BCD is not huge, there are quite a lot of white men. However, this is mainly due to the fact that this is who the majority of applicants are. There is not a toxic environment and they are definitely open to employing anyone, its just based on who is available and what their qualifications are.

Majority of employees in the hamilton office are caucasian, but there a good handful of other ethnicities.

There are a lot of women in the office, our office manager is in fact a women so very good diversity. we have people from different cultures and stuff in the office too.

We are so busy. I haven’t thought s as bout it. But we have people from everywhere.

There is variety of people and cultures at BCD Group as well as a mix of women and men, they are welcoming of anyone and everyone.

I think they are trying to hire more women, however it is not about filling a position based on gender. The company do not offer child care however there is no objections to bringing kids to work. The office is mainly male and Caucasian, i believe that is true for the industry in general. As a female, I have not had any issues, but it may be beneficial for the company to reach out to local iwi, universities and community for insight into the challenges that minorities come up against or deter them from the industry.

It is a very male dominated environment but I would say the respect for females internally is very much there. I have not seen anything regarding LGBT representation as of yet.

since starting in just two years the amount of woman that been introduced into the company is amazing to see, also good to see that when hiring they hire people that are best for the role and fit within the company such as hiring people from overseas and inviting them to work for us here

they open up roles for people with no qualifications and open up roles for people that are from any where in the world, that are just looking for the best candidates not matter where you are from or what qualifications you have.
