Boeing Defence Australia's Aerospace Engineering & Production Capability provides a range of modification, production, repair and continuing airworthiness services to support Defence's Boeing-managed aircraft fleets and complex communication systems. About the opportunity

We are seeking a Graduate Mechanical & Structures Engineer to support the Aerospace Engineering and Production (AEP) Capability.

As a member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for undertaking and developing your core knowledge about Aircraft Mechanical systems.  Graduate Mechanical Engineering roles will join teams that work on cutting edge aviation platforms such as the Super Hornet and Growler, Wedgetail, Airpower Teaming System, C-17, EC-135 or the P-8 Poseidon, supported by Boeing Defence Australia.

These roles are based at RAAF Amberley, RAAF Williamtown, Brisbane and Adelaide.

As a Graduate Engineer you will:

  • Be responsible for the successful integration of modifications and new payloads into the mechanical and structural subsystems of existing aircraft.
  • Provide in service support in the fields of Aeronautics, Mechanical and Structural systems on current operating platforms.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of Type Certification Programs, to successfully maintain the Type Certification of current operating platforms.
  • Perform and review engineering activities including project management, supplier technical coordination, design development and engineering investigation.
  • Review engineering drawings and parts lists.
  • Prepare engineering documentation such as repair instructions, design deviations and engineering advice by interpreting repair manuals and design data.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations to support design reviews.
  • Work towards gaining Engineering Authority and Delegations on the platforms you will be supporting.

About you

  • Have recently graduated (or about to graduate) with tertiary qualifications in one of the engineering disciplines, Aerospace or Mechanical.
  • Have a GPA of 5.0 and above.
  • Competent in the use of PC, MS Windows and MS Office suite.
  • Ability to work successfully unsupervised and in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
