The role

Cardno is looking to recruit a Graduate Environmental Scientist to join our Melbourne team in 2022.

Located in centrally in Melbourne's CBD, you will enjoy a vibrant office that is surrounded by café's, restaurants and Melbourne's Central Station as well as a free on-site gym. Ideally we are seeking graduates that are due to complete their studies by the end of 2021 and can be available for full time, permanent work in January 2022. As a graduate on our established 2 year Asia Pacific Graduate Development Program, you will learn all facets of environmental techniques, relevant software programs, and gain essential business skills to ensure your success in a global consulting environment.

You will be Making a Difference by –

  • Assisting with scoping and design of contaminated land and groundwater investigations
  • Conducting field testing and sampling for environmental investigations including soil, vapour, surface water, wastewater and groundwater assessments
  • Collecting, compile and interpret field and laboratory data
  • Supervise subcontractors during fieldworks
  • Conduct site history and desktop research for contamination assessments and environmental constraints analyses
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals, reports and management plans

About you

To be successful you will display –

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/Engineering with completion by 2021
  • A passion for environmental science/engineering with a specific interest in contaminated land assessment
  • Proven ability to learn and apply new concepts
  • The ability to work and collaborate within a team environment through well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills to be able to present and articulate ideas to a wide variety of stakeholders
  • A positive, initiative driven and proactive attitude
