I’ve always had an interest in Marketing, it’s an area where I can really unleash my creativity. Studying a Bachelor of Communication and Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation opened many doors for me During my studies, I wanted to get more experience in Marketing. I saw applications open for the CommBank Summer Intern Program and applied.
It was my second last year of studying, and I received an offer. During the Internship, my high expectations of CommBank were exceeded. Everything from the people and culture to the hybrid working approach, to the work itself, made me love working here. During the Internship, I worked in Consumer Marketing and had the ability to work on things that sparked my interest, like campaigns and product development.
In my first few weeks, I knew my future career was here. That led me to apply for the Marketing Graduate Program. And I was successful!
As a Marketing Grad, I started my first rotation in Business Marketing focusing on our products. After this, I rotated into the Brand Strategy and Partnerships team, working on strategic Brand and Group-wide projects. While challenging, rotating across the business has provided the best opportunities to build deep connections, and I’ve been supported every step of the way to perform at my best.
I value CommBank’s approach to practical on-the-job learning. I’ve had the ability to apply the communications and creative problem-solving skills that I learnt at uni, to what I’m working on in the real world.
I’m halfway through the Graduate Program, cross-rotating within Corporate Affairs (outside of Marketing). You get so much experience and exposure while working here and you can figure out what you like based on your development goals and interests.
Every day at CommBank is different, there’s so much variety in the work that I do. I’m constantly challenged in a supportive environment, delivering exciting projects, with amazing team members. Not to mention I’m making life-long friends through the Grad community.
