GHD Advisory's Advisory Analytics & Strategic Insights team is currently seeking final year Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science and similar quantitative degrees to join our 2021 Graduate Program in February.

The Analytics and Strategic Insights team within GHD Advisory is a small but diverse and high calibre team that works in the intersection of data analytics, engineering, and management consultancy. Our clients come from diverse industries: mining, energy, logistics, infrastructure, health, education, and government, and we work on projects from small teams through to large multi-disciplinary teams. The team is particularly looking for someone to help grow our dynamic simulation capability (object-oriented discrete event models that capture the complex dynamics of the client's operation).

As a graduate in this team, you will be exposed to a large number of tasks and activities, including, but not limited to:

  • Building dynamic simulation models to support client decision making
  • Analysing client data and model outputs – in languages such as Python and R
  • Presenting findings to clients, including interactive reports
  • Collaborating within international, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Opportunities for using a range of other modelling techniques: optimisation, machine learning, financial
  • Opportunities for web development and back-end development

To be successful in this role you will poses the following:

  • Degree in mathematics/statistics/computer science/physics or other quantitative field with high GPA
  • Programming skills (Python/Matlab/R or any relevant programming skills)
  • Experience with data desirable: transforming and analysing data sets - desired
  • Mathematical modelling: statistical models, optimisation, machine learning, simulation
  • A natural curiosity and a passion for continuous, self-driven learning
  • Strong communication skills

Eligibility for this role requires permanent Australian or New Zealand working rights.
