Job Description

The role of the MI team within Distribution Platforms is to maximize the client relationship by providing insights to management and Product Owners into client behavior on Evolve. The team is also responsible for increasing the adoption and usage of various apps being built on Evolve

As a member of the MI team, you will be responsible for the following aspects:

  • Monitor trade activity of clients on Evolve to identify any anomaly and highlight such instances to the management.
  • Monitor client and sales activity on various apps built within Evolve to provide valuable insights to increase the adoption and usage of these apps.
  • Publishing accurate MIs and management pack
  • Clear understanding of various data sources of trade, client, and HSBC staff information.
  • Understanding of various trading and CRM systems of HSBC Global Markets.
  • Working in a very high-paced, high-risk environment where you have an impact on client relationships and the revenue of the Global Markets franchise.
  • Key Pointers expected from Distribution Platform staff include (not limited to) are -

Principal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision-making area  and Typical Targets and Measures

  • Knowledge of Investment Banking Products (FX / FIXED INCOME and EQUITIES), Trading platforms across business and companies, Messaging systems, and Client Relationship Management (CRM)
  • Empathy for a retail/merchant client experience, in particular
  • Own the problem or request at hand
  • Ongoing Management
  • Creating Efficiencies

Typical Targets and Measures

  • Understanding of FX, Pips, NDFs, Market Convention
  • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proactive engagement with the stakeholders to ensure all activities are completed on time and any additional assistance that may be required for the stakeholders to conduct business and improve client servicing.
  • Efficiently manage any data issues to ensure all affected parties are informed of issues, resolution steps, and likely resolution time
  • Route issues to the right owner & follow up to ensure closure
  • Identify any potential inefficiencies in the current processor technology and drive change and improvement
  • Provide accurate and timely MI to Stakeholders
  • Handle any data cleansing tasks for Client Data
  • Monitor and analyze new client’s activity to improve client experience      
  • Streamlining existing processes/reports and creating efficiencies
  • Proven record in demising redundant processes/reports and refining existing ones

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Internal stakeholders in WPB and CMB for eCommerce payment offerings to those client bases
  • Internal stakeholders in Global Markets – Corporate and Institutional
  • Distribution Platform – MT, Product Owners, and eCS Leads

Typical Targets and Measures

  • Liaise with the product owners and generate and communicate ideas through extensive research
  • Create MI and new ways of depicting client trading and activity trends for making intelligent business decisions
  • Support key sales initiatives to increase client focus and internal coordination
  • Ensure there is a culture of expectation management and reprioritization to meet stakeholder requests

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent MS office Skills – Excel and Powerpoint
  • Coding and data visualization skills – VBA, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Qliksense
  • Strong MI & Presentation skills
  • Multitask - Ability to work on more than one platform
  • Ability to simplify complex tasks in easy formats and communicate in a simple manner
  • Strong experience in query language including joins and querying JSON data
  • Capable to build macros to automate reports and improve efficiency.
  • Experience building dashboards in Tableau and deploying them in a production environment.
  • Strong Python skills-building code to connect to the database, extract data, cleanse data and build reports.
  • Good to have – basics of machine learning and implemented in any projects.
