My current project is within the operations team. We have a daily meeting each morning to communicate any issues and plan the day ahead. It is a great way to have dedicated time to talk about anything within the team! After the meeting, I run through any emails & my agenda for the day whilst I have my breakfast.

7.00 AM

After waking up I get ready to drive to work. I worked from home yesterday, so I pack my laptop & mouse as well as my overnight oats out of the fridge to have for breakfast once I get into work.

7.30 AM

My current rotation is at the Chirnside Park office, whilst I live in Port Melbourne, I love to listen to podcasts in the car on the way.

8.20 AM

The trek takes about 50 minutes. So, after arriving I chat with some of the team, grab a coffee from the lunchroom, and set up my desk. I have a standing desk, so I break up my day between sitting, standing, & walking up to the warehouse.

9.30 AM

As I have just started a new rotation... I get given a tour around the warehouse, gaining some insights into the machines which are involved in my project and the operators who handle them.

10.30 AM

I am now back in my workspace and log into a meeting with an external vendor from Brisbane, they are helping the implementation phase of my project and I’m able to meet with them weekly to run through tasks and project management.

12.00 PM

Lunch-time! I walk by some of the team and we head into the lunch area together to see what our on-site cafeteria is whipping up for today. Our own café means super cheap, quality lunches. Today is fish and chips with a salad. I sit down with some of the team and have a yarn over lunch.

1.00 PM

I usually go for a quick lap around the block after lunch. Got to keep those steps up! Today I need to go and pick up some smart tablets to connect to our machines for my project. Since Officeworks is right nearby, I use this time to walk over and scope out their range.

2.00 PM

Since we have a new intake of graduates joining the program in 2022, the 5 of us current graduates from 2021 have a catch-up with them on Microsoft teams to see how they are travelling and help them out with anything they need.

4.00 PM

Each graduate is assigned a mentor throughout the program. I catch up with mine every month to talk about life outside of work & to help me with any challenges I may be facing at work and provide the guidance I may need. My mentor is a soccer fan, he usually grills me about how bad I have played on the weekend 😊

4.30 PM

I pack my things and head home to get ready for tonight. This evening we have a special event, many of the business leaders have flown in from QLD & NSW for a conference today. They have organised drinks & canapes in the CBD for past & present graduates to be able to network with our business leaders.

6.00 PM

A lovely way to connect after not being able to travel for so long due to COVID. Food, drinks, and a chance to share our thoughts on the program with our leaders.
