About the Internship Program

At Laing O’Rourke, they’re committed to equipping their interns with the foundational knowledge and skills needed for success. As part of their comprehensive 12-week Internship Program, you’ll have the chance to work on a real project site during the summer. This will also allow you to experience working at Laing O’Rourke, get a sense of their culture and gain a better understanding of the job and future career pathway.

About the Sustainability Stream

A sample of the type of tasks you may complete as a Sustainability Intern include:

  • Completing site inspections to monitor sustainability compliance and implementation of sustainability initiatives onsite.
  • Preparing and maintaining sustainability documentation such as management plans, the risk and opportunities register, procedures, inspections etc.
  • Implementing actions, procedures and tools that support the project to achieve the required sustainability outcomes.
  • Monitoring, reporting and maintaining records on aspects such as waste, material, water and energy.
  • Analyse and interpret data to draw appropriate conclusions and make practical recommendations to improve sustainability performance.
  • Assist in the completion processes by collecting relevant data to verify and close-out project sustainability requirements.

About you

To be eligible for the Internship Program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • At the time of application, hold Australian/ New Zealand citizenship or Permanent Residency.
  • Be in your second last year of university studies (penultimate year).
  • Be studying a relevant degree to the role advertised, a Bachelor of Sustainability or a related degree.
