The Risk Analytics team in Mumbai is part of the Market Risk Analytics and Scenario Analytics teams of the firm. The Market Risk Analytics team is a methodology team responsible for the development, enhancement, and periodic updates of risk models for the firm’s portfolios for the Market Risk department.

Your role

As an Associate - Subledger Operations you will be responsible for the stakeholder engagement and some management of the Sub-Ledger and Substantiation team in Mumbai, supporting the existing Director, as well as working with various individuals across Operations to examine both new and established processes, assessing risk and to develop control mechanisms to mitigate the risk associated with these processes.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse the root causes of activity where journals fail to post as intended to the sub-ledger and support related error resolution.
  • LESA errors should be investigated, escalated, delegated and put in held pending status and get the error resolved by chasing and obtaining commentary from BU.
  • Escalate appropriate errors to relevant owners and provide advice and guidance on resolution.
  • Control specific entitlements and rules that support one of the firm’s critical manual journals systems
  • Collaborate with Finance, Technology and other Operations users across all regions
  • Any changes in GAU/SAU should work on complete accuracy and in line with the Account usage update checklist.
  • Catchall journal processes should work on complete accuracy and request for an amendment if any discrepancy.
  • Working to tight deadlines on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Creation of different risk reports/ MI reporting.
  • Building a detailed understanding of each exception report, allowing complex queries to be answered.
  • Acquiring an intricate knowledge of firm  systems, data sources and processes, building the ability to question the data integrity
  • Working with business areas and their Risk Managers to assess the integrity of any unsubstantiated balances, late sign-offs etc.

The MSFS Internship Program has been designed to develop highly motivated professionals by providing a stimulating and supportive environment to understand the business and achieve maximum potential.  On joining, you will go through a training program that covers business process and systems training.

Summer Associates spend eight-ten weeks working on live projects, understanding the business workings and how Investor Services supports Morgan Stanley and its businesses.
