Your role
The role provides an interface between customer service, operations, and drivers, coordinating and facilitating activities to ensure all customers receive a positive experience in line with our service delivery promise.
Responsibilities:
- Responding to internal and external customer inquiries and service requests via email, phone, and face-to-face
- Managing customer order entries and updating accounts
- Providing customers with quotes and product knowledge
- Maintaining customer database integrity
- Resolving customer complaints
- General administrative duties along with supporting other departments
Training, development & rotations
Waste Management provides an interesting and useful blend of learning opportunities (both face-to-face and virtual) such as e-learning, virtual sessions with experts from around its business, peer networking, leadership development, and action learning projects where you’ll have the opportunities to work together. As this is my first job in my career path after leaving university, I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of day-to-day responsibilities. I have been really enjoying the work and am interested in what I do, the only downside is there is quite a bit of Maths involved which is not much strong point, I am more of a Science and English person.
At the moment, I'm doing a variety of smaller things but there is no definitive responsibility that I have. I enjoy doing what I do but I do not like sitting around doing nothing, which of recently has been the case for some days.
I am quite satisfied with my work. I enjoy seeing what I have created being used and it helping and improving the way we do things.

Pros
Good people—I feel very welcomed and a part of the team.
Large business, lots to learn, variety of projects.
They allow me to move the hours I work around to fit personal commitments and issues.
WM does what it can to reduce environmental impacts from landfill gas capture to electric fleets.
There is a huge focus on each other's diversity; special days in different cultures are often celebrated.
Cons
There is quite an issue with the communication, but this is something that is being worked on.
Yet to have a big responsibility, and ambiguity in my role within the business.
Sometimes there are lulls in the work available. This does allow for creative thought, but it can feel slow.
Some of the older/smaller sites are left behind in terms of office space, location, and facilities.
The pay is as expected considering I am a graduate, but I know there is potential for an increase.
