not muxh technical formal training

Company focusses almost entirely on soft skills training and neglects developing the core skills of its technical disciplines. All training is self-initiated.

Department specific training has been good, other corporate wide has been very hit and miss.

Navigator training, typical internal training for the business, nothing formal that has been technical for my role though. Some modules to allow us to see other areas of the business too

Lots of training is offered here. Improved my public speaking, self-awareness, emotional intelligence etc.

Manager is quite open to approving training but this is most of the time self-initiated either by myself or peers; not much leadership support to organise mandatory or supporting trainings.

1. Job training: detailed handover, and people are willing to teach you something else. 2. informal/formal trainings: leadership training, business case learning, and industry learning.

Available programs are good but few and far between. I really enjoyed the ACEPT TAFE course and Navigator phase 1. People around the company are great at extending opportunities for exposure (to see equipment, go to site etc.). But in the office people just don't have time to sit and step you through technical work, like how to complete a task, where to find the information. I'm not expecting to be spoon fed, but to maximise my potential and for Woodside to get the most from me, a little invested time would hugely boost my productivity.

Much of the training is self organised or not grad specific thus far. Formal Grad training doesn't seem to be a thing. However the graduate job label does effectively encourage others to teach you.

No list of recommended external trainings, nobody organising trainings, limited internal trainings held compared to 2-3 years ago, graduate program general trainings are undeveloped, competencies changing/undefined. Competitors (i.e. chevron, shell, inpex) have a significantly more organised graduate program with more opportunities to attend world-class training.

3 year comprehensive grad program with extensive leadership training
Graduate, Perth - 16 Apr 2024
Training had no structure and only support from other team members.

A lot of learning / training opportunities up for grabs. But sometimes non-technical related mandatory training eats into my work hours.
Graduate, Perth - 14 Jun 2022
Graduate training focusses on competency development, with good networking and learning opportunities with senior engineers. Recent organisation changes does place less emphasis on gradate intake and formal development

Very strong leadership training program.

We are able to access a large range of training, and can also apply for external training dependant on approval and support from your manager.

Poor (no) training focus in the last 6 months
Graduate, Perth - 10 Jun 2022
The budget has been reduced, but I feel there is still great learning opportunities around
Graduate, Perth - 10 Jun 2022
A lot of soft skill training is provided (e.g. Navigator) which is great. In technical roles there are also a lot of technical training available for all staff\.
