Training & Personal Development at CIMIC Group

7.0
7.0 rating for Training, based on 36 reviews
Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
Formal training is provided as necessary for my role (qualifications and competencies for site). Informal training is regularly provided during work.
Graduate, Brisbane
Formal training and informal/on the job training has been excellent. Graduate development days were a good opportunity to develop technical skills, leadership skills and business acumen. Informal training is provided through working with a highly experienced team who are eager to pass on their knowledge. Opportunities for on the job training are provided to graduates as they are able to select which teams they'd like to rotate to.

The informal training is quite good from on job experience. Although I've been given very little formal training. More formal training would be appreciated.

Informal training through webinars, lunch and learns. Also informal training by going on the ground and following the lead from my managers. Our own internal training sessions as a team is also beneficial. Comes down to a great team manager who wants to see us learn.
Graduate
I have received the mandatory training but at some points the requirement have not been preempted very well and may end up being last minute. This depends on which division or team you may be part of
Graduate, Brisbane
I have mostly learnt on the job from my coworkers. I have not completed much actual training by the company except for online inductions. But my coworkers have been great at showing me how to do things.
Graduate, North Sydney
Haven't really been involved in any formal training outside of what is available online through the company in One Learning. I had the chance to work on unique things while on site and get valuable experience but no formal training or access to new certifications etc.
Graduate, Perth
Graduate Program provided interesting seminars. Over east people were given opportunity to gain there HRWL with CSE and Gas testing training which would of been very beneficial

No direct training program however, if you need external training it may be requested through your direct manager.

The graduate program offers a number of learning opportunities. A graduate meet up in Sydney allowed the graduate across CIMIC to get to know each other. However a number of other opportunities were impacted due to Covid.

All the training I've needed I have received

Multiple scheduling training programs - I am a great scheduler now even though I joined the company having zero scheduling skills Graduate program put me in several different fields and roles so I know alumina refineries, fuel terminals, power stations and the rail corridor
Graduate, Brisbane
I have attended a training course, but they are few and far between. Informal training is task specific and is sufficient to complete project requirements, but not much more than that.
Midlevel, Sydney
Not much training for graduates
Graduate, Melbourne
My company focuses on personal and professional development, some the training that I have had include, financial management, risk management, etc.
Graduate, Melbourne
Training always has a focus on finance and reporting which is great, however I would like if there was also a focus on technical training.
