Please provide further information on diversity with respect to women, ethnic minorities and LGBT. Please comment on issues such as recruitment, retention, promotion, child care, maternity leave, etc.
We clearly hire people of all sorts of diversities. My personal experience is we do a pretty good job with this.

I think there is a good balance here

Everyone is respected but nothing is really above and beyond to commit to diversity in the workplace.

Very diverse work place

We have a very diverse workforce, There is a great maternity leave policy where you get 6 months full pay and then $50 a day for childcare for your first 6 months when you return to work. As a woman at Mainfreight i feel opportunities are equal there were some things i couldn't physically lift in my time on the floor and the boys would help me but other than that its fair play

Probably not to a level to that of the younger generation, but great to see the push for women especialy in the last few years and seeing their achievements and taking more prominent roles.

its good operational companies are generally male dominant but mainfreight is very different we have woman everywhere and some in very good leadership positions

I think the company is committed to diversity but still lacks it

Diverse with cultures, not a lot of woman in higher roles, but I think that's because Woman aren't pushing themselves to get there.

Women are well respected and are in leadership roles around NZ, you aren't selected for a role based on whether you are a male or female. Ethnic minorities are well respected and again you aren't selected for a role based on an ethnicity- we welcome all cultures and backgrounds. LQBTIQA is also not a factor we ever discriminate on and everyone is welcomed. There is a push for more female leaders and progression, Kate on the board is a great driver of all of this. Maternity leave is given and flexible hours for those mothers etc.

Recruitment is pretty diverse - it is traditionally a male-dominant industry but the females are working our way in! In the sales space we are looking at a 50/50 split in NZ this year so it is definitely a priority and the results are showing. Culture is pretty diverse across the business as a whole - this could improve in the sales space though. Not a whole lot of representation across cultures. Mainfreight have changed their parental leave policy to 6 months full pay for the primary caregiver, 6 months childcare support, 2 weeks paid leave to the secondary caregiver
